Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch manual therapy that addresses restrictions in the cranial sacral system – the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. This vital system extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum or tailbone area.
Since the cranial sacral system directly impacts the central nervous system, it’s easy to see how an imbalance there could cause any number of sensory, motor or neurological disabilities. CST helps to correct those restrictions so the body can release the effects of stress – naturally.
CST is practiced a little different here with the added treatment to your legs and arms. We have found without including the legs it is difficult to have a balanced pelvis; and the arms have a major effect on the shoulders and neck. We pride ourselves on assessing your entire central nervous system, correcting restrictions, opening up the flow of cerebral spinal fluid, etc., so YOU notice the difference upon completion of your session.
Adults initial visits tend to run 2 to 3 hours; additional sessions range from 1 to 2 hours; children 1 hour. You are worked on the entire time as it is our goal you leave feeling better!
